Fort Smith Public Schools is Hiring an Utility Foreman Near Fort Smith, AR
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience required in the specific areas of supervision
- Ability to push/pull a minimum of 20 lbs. frequently.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height occasionally.
- Ability to perform physical labor in hot and cold outdoor environments.

- Responsible for supervising the technical phases of the department crew's schedule; work through and in coordination with the Executive Director of Facility Operations.
- Familiarize all new crew with their job duties.
- Present a job-related training class to all crew as time permits.
- Be available for occasional non-work-day emergencies.
- Assist building and ground personnel with crew supervision.
- Ability to maintain and/or repair all equipment used by district crew.
- Must lift heavy loads and do strenuous labor.
- Advise the Executive Director of Facility Operations on department crew staffing needs.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Plan and supervise short and long term department projects.
- Assist the Executive Director of Facility Operations with purchase of department equipment and supplies.
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Communicates clearly with all members of the assigned department.
- Must be able to work independently, sometimes with minimal supervision.
- Attend meetings as scheduled by supervisors and district administration.
- Maintain a professional relationship with students, faculty, administration, and community patrons.
- Maintains prompt and regular attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to endure prolonged standing, walking, sitting, occasional reaching above the head or the shoulders, bending, squatting, and kneeling.
